May '06 Tandem surfing trip in France

Fred and Valerie just returned from France. It was a great trip! They visited their families and friends and surfed some great waves from Britanny to the Basque Country. Best of all, they entered a Quiksilver/Roxy event in Lacanau and got first place in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd. Valerie was thrilled to meet with the french tandem pairs Rico & Sarah and Alban & Fanny for the first time. Val and Fred would like to thank them for providing a board, sharing some tandem tricks and their cheerful welcome. Check out the pictures here [pix].

Thank you Celine & Eric

Eric and Celine, a new tandem couple from Biarritz, France visited California for a couple of weeks staying, first with Steve and Barrie Boehne in Dana Point, then with us in Encinitas. Unfortunately, half way through the trip, Celine injured her elbow while practicing some lifts on the beach and was forced out of the water for the rest of their stay. Despite being unable to tandem surf, we exchanged a lot of “tandem tricks”, “tandem stories”, “tandem projects”, “tandem gossip” and many many bursts of laughter! We really appreciated their enthusiasm for tandem surfing and their lovely company [pix]. We wish our new friends a fantastic tandem future and wish Celine a fast recovery.

Jan. 7th '06 Doheny Contest at Church's

Our first contest of the season will take us to Church's for the Doheny Longboard Association's Contest. A big swell is predicted, will you come too?

Oct. 22nd, 23rd & 24th '05 Women's World Longboard Championships

The Women's World Longboard Championships are going to be held at Ocean Beach, San Diego this year. We are scheduled to have an exhibition at this event. Come check it out!!

Oct. 9th '05 Coalition Contest

Our next Coalition of Surf Clubs contest will be at Cardiff Reef, and that's on October 9th!

Sep. 24th & 25th '05 Rob Machado Classic

Saturday and Sunday September 24th and 25th come check out the Rob Machado Classic at Cardiff Reef. We will be tandem surfing with two other couples during the "Rob Machado and friends" Expression Session. Unfortunately Fred will not be able to participate in this event and many thanks to Travis Long of the Pacific Beach Surf Club, who has agreed to fill in for him. Hope to see you there!
