Our acknowledgments first go out to Steve
and Barrie Boehne who have inspired us from the very beginning. We must
have watched their instructional video (“The Art of Tandem Surfing”)
like a couple thousand times!! We always feel welcome in their surf shop
in Dana Point and benefit so much from their cheerful enthusiasm and precious
advices. Steve shaped our beloved Infinity tandem board (we are also very
grateful to Pat Weber for kindly lending us his tandem board, an Infinity
board too, for almost 6 months before we got our own).
During one of our first sessions we also had the
chance to cross the way of the Harris family from the Oceanside
Longboard Club. Gretchen was the one who convinced us to participate in
our first contest. These tandem competitions are just great to meet
other tandem couples. The atmosphere is always friendly: we do not feel
like rivals, just a big family of tandem surf buddies. We would like to
thank them for sharing their priceless experience and their friendship.
We would also like to acknowledge Tom English and Otis, respectively president
and team captain of the Swami’s Surfing Association for giving us
the opportunity to represent the club in official events.

Valerie would like to thank
her regular “spotters” (Vincent, Siavash, Xavier, Michael)
who care about her safety. She also thanks her beloved husband Vincent
for his patience baby-sitting their son during the tandem sessions. Fred
would like to thank Alban and Marie as well as Rico and Sarah for being
so welcoming when he visited Lacanau, France last summer and for letting
him use their tandem boards. We are both grateful for all the encouragements
from our friends in San Diego. We always surf better when we hear them
cheering on the beach!!! Thank you to the talented photographers/cameramen:

this website would not exist… Talking about that, Sia, you’re
the best webmaster ever! What you created for us is priceless… We
cannot thank you enough…Ok, Ok, we’ll talk about the money

Finally we would like to evoke our families. Except for Valerie’s
husband and son our respective families live in France, 10,000 miles away
from San Diego. However, despite the distance, we can feel their love
and support. Our dream is to participate in the next Biarritz Surf Festival
so that we can “dance” for them… Merci!
